Sunset Yellow FCF: sulfonated Sudan I derivative — may carry trace Sudan I (a carcinogen) as a manufacturing impurity, limited by the EU specification (Reg. 231/2012). EFSA set the ADI at 4 mg/kg bw/day (2014); EU mandatory child-hyperactivity warning (Annex V); allergy / aspirin-intolerance reactions and dose-dependent animal toxicity at high doses. Risk is dose-dependent and per-product intake is unmeasurable in-app, so it is flagged defensively (see retain-precautionary disposition).
