Amaranth (FD&C Red No. 2): FDA banned it from US food in 1976 as a suspected carcinogen; EFSA (2010) lowered the ADI to 0.15 mg/kg bw/day; azo dye. The EU and Ukraine permit only restricted use (fish roe, aperitifs). Risk depends on the dose; the app cannot measure actual intake, so this flag is precautionary.
