Orange GGN: deleted from the EU list of permitted colours by Council Directive 76/399/EEC (marketing prohibited from 1978); not an authorised EU food additive; not permitted in US food. JECFA postponed its evaluation for insufficient data (WHO Food Additives Series 12, 1977) — no ADI set. Oral carcinogenicity studies were largely negative and it was not mutagenic; the findings were reduced rat-liver vitamin A at high doses and an in-vitro enzyme effect. There is no IARC classification.

Nutly strongly discourages regular consumption.
